Pet Portraits Image Guidelines

The most important part of your order, crucial to the quality of the final pet portrait, is the quality of the image you upload. Let's review the following tips and guidelines to make sure yours is just right:

  • Take a photo or choose an existing photo that is taken in daylight or in a brightly lit room.
  • Use a smartphone or high quality camera
  • Ensure the whole face & neck is visible and not in shadows.
  • Avoid overly filtered photos to ensure we correctly capture your pet's coloring.
  • Make sure your pet is looking directly at the camera at eye level, facing forward. Other positions are acceptable, but your pet will be shown in that position in the final portrait.
  • Please note: collars, leashes, bows, hats, and other cute outfits will not be illustrated in your final portrait.

Frequently asked questions
What if my photo isn't good enough?

If the photo is too blurry or dark to work with, I'll email you within 24 hours and ask for a different one. I'll never print something that won't turn out well.
What if I don't like the portrait?

Every portrait is custom-made from your photo. If it arrives damaged or with a print defect, contact us within 30 days with a photo and we'll send a replacement at no cost. Because each piece is made specifically for you, we're unable to accept returns for change of mind — so make sure your photo is clear and well-lit before ordering.
How long does it take?

After you place your order, your portrait is created and sent to print within 1–2 days. From there, delivery typically takes 4–6 business days.
Can I order for a dog that has passed away?

Yes. Many people order memorial portraits. Just upload the best photo you have — old photos are fine.
What photo works best?

A clear photo of your dog's face in good natural lighting. It doesn't need to be professional. For more info

Not sure whether your images will work?

Email your image to us (support@pupfest.store) and we'll let you know. We often create portraits of pets that have passed away, so we understand it's not always possible to follow all of the guidelines above.

In many cases, we can still make it work.
